Thu 12th April

Comedy Night

DOORS OPEN AT 7PM

FIRST ACT ON STAGE AT 8PM

The Picturedrome, Holmfirth has long had an enviable reputation for live music but Thursday 12th April sees live comedy added to it’s winning formula. With two stalwarts of live comedy and one of it’s rising stars we think we have the perfect mix for a highly successful and hysterical evening!

Rob Rouse, Justin Moorhouse, Jack Campbell, MC Stephen Bailey

Acts subject to change.

Strong language and adult themes.

Now best known as star as William Shakespeare’s manservant Bottom in Ben Elton’s  sitcom Upstart Crow, Gawsworth born Rob Rouse has been a firm favourite on the UK and international comedy circuit’s for many a year.    A natural performer, Rob has many voices in his head and, when unleashed, his shows become more like a hysterically funny play than one man telling very funny tales. TV includes 8 Out Of 10 Cats, Spoons, The Friday Night Project, Grown-Ups and Comedy Shuffle with Rob Rouse.

“He’s a man with genuinely funny bones.”  Sunday Times  “Go and see him now, I tell you, now!”  The List

Certainly no stranger to Holmfirth is Justin Moorhouse. This highly regarded Manchester comedian and presenter who has taken several comedy shows to the Edinburgh Fringe and toured the UK. In February 2015 Justin performed to over 200 000 people in a 15 night stage version of Channel 4’s Phoenix Nights. The critically acclaimed show at the Manchester Arena raised £5 million for Comic Relief. A natural affability endears Justin to any audience and an arsenal of tightly written material firmly hedges the bet.

“Moorhouse charms the pants off the crowd” Sunday Times

Although best known to Channel 5 viewers for presenting Big Brother’s Bit On The Side, Stephen Bailey is fast making a name for himself as a stand up comic. This proudly working-class, ginger, gay, northerner employs a warm, chatty style that cloaks a sharp, barbed wit but pulled off with an amiable charm so genuine that no one feels they are the butt of the joke. Stephen’s TV apperances include Safeword (ITV2), Eamonn Holmes’ It’s Not Me, It’s You (C5) and countless other TV shows.
