The Clone Roses
The Clone Roses
Sat 9th June
Enter the world’s premier Stone Roses tribute: The Clone Roses.
These four lads from the North West of England have been playing at sold out venues across the UK for almost a decade, delighting crowds with their uncannily accurate recreation of a classic Stone Roses gig.
We’re talking 1989, when the Roses were at the peak of their powers, and “Fool’s Gold” spent 14 weeks in the UK charts. The band’s attention to detail is admirable, from the clothes and paint-spattered instruments to the Manc swagger and stage mannerisms, while the musical and sonic accuracy of their performance is second to none.
Their set includes all of the Roses’ classics, including “Waterfall”, “Made of Stone”, “This Is the One” and of course “I Am the Resurrection.” Many of their shows have featured DJ support from the icons of the “Madchester” era, including Clint Boon (Inspiral Carpets, XFM), Shaun Ryder and Bez from ‘The Happy Mondays’, and Hacienda and Stone Roses tour DJ Dave Haslam.
Their biggest show to date was at Brixton Academy in London, supporting ‘The Happy Mondays’ and ‘The Farm’ in front of an ecstatic crowd of over 4000 people.
The Stone Roses’ bass player Mani has offered the band an enthusiastic endorsement on Radio by saying “I can’t believe it’s not butter. The second best Stone Roses in the world – The Clone Roses.” You can’t ask for a better recommendation than that.
