David Ford

David Ford

David Ford, whose last few tours have featured a band of 15 musicians and a stage full to bursting with extraordinary and often bizarre home made musical instruments is stripping things right back for his forthcoming February dates throughout England.

In the ancient tradition of the ‘balladeer’ he is, this time, playing solo in small venues and small towns with just a guitar and a piano for accompaniment. The tour heralds the release of his third album ‘Let the Hard Times Roll’ and in the spirit of the album’s name, David wants to deliberately revel in a make do and mend approach to this tour.

These shows will feature the songs from the new album in their simplest and most naked form, along with a good deal of conversation about the making of the album, the background to these songs and Ford’s theories about Pandas amongst other things.

Hurry, tickets are limited ~ Performing in the smaller Balcony Bar

Nik Kershaw

Nik Kershaw

In 1983 Nik Kershaw released his debut album “Human Racing” in 1984. It achieved multi-platinum sales and launched Nik’s career worldwide. His records spent 50 weeks on the UK singles chart that year, beating all other soloists.

The equally successful “The Riddle” followed and, in July 1985, he took the Wembley stage to perform at Live Aid.

In 1990, after four MCA albums and sales of over 8 million, Nik left the spotlight to concentrate on song writing and producing. The following years saw him working with Elton John, Chesney Hawkes – for whom he penned the Number 1 hit ‘The One and Only’, Cliff Richard, Bonnie Tyler, Lulu, Ronan Keating, Jason Donovan, Tony Banks, Michael W Smith, Connah Reeves, Nick Carter, The Hollies, Colin Blunstone, Imogen Heap, Gary Barlow and Let Loose.

He rekindled his recording career in 1998 with the critically acclaimed album “15 Minutes” and has subsequently released two albums, To Be Frank and You’ve Got To Laugh. He has recently finished recording an acoustic album, signed copies of which will be available at the Spring 2010 shows.

He has received accolades from such legends as Eric Clapton and Miles Davis and has been nominated for four Brit Awards.

Nik hit the road for a national tour for the first time in seven years in 2009, with his new Solo Acoustic show. The evening features all his hits, plus a selection of material from his more recent albums.

Peter Green & friends

Peter Green & friends

In 2009, after several years out of the public eye, Peter Green is back with a new band – Peter Green and Friends.

Now seated centre stage, what is obvious is that the show revolves around him, and that he is in the company of notably simpatico musicians. Peter’s guitar and voice is shining once again. Peter Green and Friends is about the man himself enjoying the performance experience – this is not a Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac greatest hits band.

Naturally, no Peter Green appearance would be complete without a few of his classic compositions, but now the focus is on fresh renditions of Peter's personal blues, R&B and soul favourites. The repertoire is an exciting, unpredictable mix and you can't help but notice him smiling and laughing in a way not seen for a very long time.

Band leader, Mike Dodd has brought together a cracking group of musicians: keyboard ace Geraint Watkins (Van Morrrison, Nick Lowe, Bill Wyman), the cool stand-up bass of Matt Radford (Peter Molinari, Nick Lowe) and the blues-driven grooves of drummer and Andalucian resident Andrew Flude, plus the chunky rhythm guitar of Mike Dodd. All are there, first and foremost, to provide keen support to the great man himself.?

Queens Of The Clone Age
[UK's leading QOTSA tribute]

The FOUR FIGHTERS performed at The Picturedrome as the headline act as part of ROCKTOBERFEST 2008 to rave reviews.

This band was formed in 2003 by Foo Fighters Fans for Foo Fighters fans! Four vastly experienced musicians came together for this project with a passion to recreate the sound of the now legendary Dave Grohl - fronted, American

Four Fighters can be found playing the most prestigious venues the length and breadth of the UK. Add to that a recent string of dates in Ireland and mainland Europe and you could arguably say that this is fast becoming the world's ultimate Foo Fighters tribute band!

Four Fighters' live shows are explosive events and the bands go to every effort to reproduce the raw power and dynamics of the original band.

All of the Foo Fighters studio albums, from their eponymous debut to the much acclaimed Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace are represented and given the live treatment by this band. They perform the songs with an energy and passion that only true fans could and perform them in the same way you would see and hear them at a Foo Fighters live show! Show Of Hands

Show Of Hands

Steve Knightley and Phil Beer are widely acknowledged as the finest acoustic roots duo in England. Knightley, who writes most of their inspired material and Beer, a dazzling multi instrumentalist, have built up a huge following which has seen them sell out the Albert Hall three times and headline at major festivals from Glastonbury to WOMAD.

Voted Best Live Act in the 2004 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards, the jury is still out on just what kind of music they play. A genre defying mix of rock, roots, blues, country, trad, and often influenced by the music of other countries, it is played out on an array of instruments from slide guitar to fiddle, mandolin to South American cuatro.

Limehouse Lizzy

The boys are back in town. And when the cry of "Are you out there" first went up in 1993, who'd have thought that the Thin Lizzy tribute of frontman and uncannily-accurate Phil Lynott sound and lookalike Wayne Ellis would go on to be one of the most popular and well respected tributes worldwide. Live Band Of The Year (Guitarist Magazine) and with a blistering show nearing two hours, you'll hear pretty much everything you ever remember of the hard rockers from Dublin, including rare album tracks for the purists. Co-founder Greg Alcock even learned that distinctive sound and feel as Brian Robertson's guitar tech! Look, you already know all this - this is a very special show: don't be without a ticket.

The Clone Roses

The Clone Roses are now regarded by many as the UK's No1 Tribute to Manchester legends "The Stone Roses". The Clone Roses have the looks and sounds of The Stone Roses and include all the classics in their set such as: Waterfall, Fools Gold and I am the Resurrection.

The Hamsters

The Hamsters play Jimi Handrix
Supported by THE HAMSTERS!

The guitar, bass and drums trio The Hamsters have long been established as one of our premier Blues-Rock attractions, having performed well over 4,000 concerts in 24 years. Although a band in their own right - playing rootsy Rock, Blues and Americana - they've also long widely been regarded as the UK's leading interpreters of the music of Jimi Hendrix.

Tonight, on their Jimi Hendrix 40th Anniversary Memorial Tour, they'll be performing a show of his songs to commemorate his passing 40 years ago in September 1970. The band will 'support' themselves by playing a short opening set of their own brand of music, then return for a full Jimi show!

"They're fabulous: one of Britain's very best live bands"
Bob Harris, Radio 2

"Nobody does the music of Jimi Hendrix better"
The Times
